Mount Errigle

The tallest mountain in Donegal comes towering up out of the landscape as you approach it.

Magnificent in its grandeur, the tough hike to the top takes about 1 1/2 hours and isn't for the faint-hearted. But from the summit, the views are awe-inspiring.

Visible from Ballyeriston House, the foot of Errigle is a 35-minute drive away.

Slieve League

Some of the highest sea cliffs in Europe, Slieve League is an incredible place of natural wonder, and a visit not to be missed.

 

During the summer months, boat tours can take intrepid tourists along the base of the cliffs while avid walkers make the pilgrimage to One Man's Pass, with its knife-edge ridge and

550-meter drop.

But if you're not feeling so adventurous, the viewing platform is stunning and local vendors sell Lobster Rolls and Ice Cream.

Crohy Head

Visit 'The Breeches', towering sea stacks at Crohy Head on the Mullaghmullan Peninsula. These magnificent rock formations are at the side of an 18th-century beachside quarry. Dangerous to access from the beach, they can be seen from a viewpoint on the road.

Only a 30-minute drive from Ballyeriston House.

Sheskinmore
Nature Reserve

A fixed sand dune system designated a a Special Area of Conservation (SAC), a Special Protection Area (SPA) and a Wildfowl Sanctuary.

North West of Ardara, this is one of Ireland's best hidden spots for nature lovers.

Only a 20-minute drive from Ballyeriston House.

The Bluestack Mountains

The major mountain range in the south of Donegal they are a challenge for any intrepid walker that stretches right across the south of the county.
